With a daughter at her side, our Lord and Savior called home Helen C. Morris, 83, of Green Bay, this past Friday, November 18, 2016. She is the beloved wife of 61 years to William E. Morris.
Helen was born on December 20, 1932 in St. Louis, MI, daughter of the late George and Leona (Solomon) Coston. A graduate of St. Louis High School Class of 1951, she later obtained her Bachelors Degree in Education from Michigan State University. She taught for many years in a one room schoolhouse and later was a substitute teacher in the Appleton School District. Helen retired after 12 years as the Financial Secretary for the Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon, WI. In her retirement she was heavily involved in the National Celiac Association and wrote the well received Fox Valley Celiac Association Newsletter. Helen and her husband Bill received the Celiac Sprue Association national members of the year award. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Green Bay. Her life was extremely devoted to God, her family, and advocating for cancer, celiac, and Parkinson's research.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Bill and their daughters: Jennifer (Timothy) Wargula, and Lisa (Jeffrey) Miller. Helen also leaves two brothers: Leo (Lois) Coston, and Ronald Coston in addition to five beloved grandchildren: Sierra (Luke) Steuerwald, Alan (Emily Van Ness) Wargula, Kirk (Annie) Miller, Samuel Wargula, and Jackson Miller and one great grandson, Wesley Steuerwald. Helen is preceded in death by her sister, Beatrice Fisher.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd from 4 - 6 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe Street, Green Bay. A Memorial Service will follow in the Church at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation or the Lombardi Cancer Center.
