Helen C. Flanigan

Helen C. Flanigan , 92, of Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

She was born on November 2, 1931, in Green Bay, the youngest child of John and Mary (Sweeney) Flanigan. She graduated from Cathedral Grade School, St. Joseph Academy High School and St. Catherine's School of Nursing at Creighton University. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for many years, mainly in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. She also worked at Odd Fellows Nursing Home.

Helen supported and took part in many Community Theater productions over the years, and enjoyed being involved with her theater "family." She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish. Helen was an avid knitter, and gifted many handmade blankets. She was also passionate about and supported the Green Bay Humane Society.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents; her two brothers, Norbert Flanigan and Edward Flanigan; and a niece, Meg Flanigan.

Surviving Helen are her nieces and nephews: Marti (Lee) Vandervest of Glenview, IL, Patty Flanigan (Peter Kolstad) of San Jose, CA, Norbert Flanigan, Jr. of Green Bay, Terry Flanigan Guay of Green Bay and Tim (Elizabeth) Flanigan of Green Bay; and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S Monroe Ave, Green Bay. A visitation will begin an hour prior until the time of the service.

Helen's family extends their appreciation and gratitude for the staff at Grancare Nursing Center for the compassionate care they provided to Helen.
