Helen C. Coonen

On December 12, 2024 our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed into the arms of the Lord. Helen Clara was born on July 2, 1931, the seventh child of Frank and Clara Coonen. She was blessed with 11 children, 9 daughters and 2 sons. She was the most awesome grandma to her 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way. She always said that they were the icing on the cake.

Helen returned to school after raising her family and completed her degree at the age of 52. She worked for the state of Wisconsin in Milwaukee for 14 years. She was a girl scout leader, CCD teacher and a Lioness. Helen's other passions were quilting, cards, gardening and traveling. She passed on her love of flowers with the many "slips" she gave us all.

Helen is survived by her 8 daughters and 2 sons; Laurie (Mick) Gleason, Jackie (Larry) Gruber, Jean (Mick) Gotta, Sally (Ted) Anderson, Janet (Josh) Myhre, Nancy (Tony) Martens, Joe Laskowski, Michelle (Steve) Beres, Robert (Saundra) Laskowski, and Susan Laskowski, her special children; Michael (Lori) Flanagan. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her great-granddaughter Grace Greenawald, her daughter Mary who passed away in her 26th year of life, along with her child Angie Jacqueline.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer (340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay, 54301).

She was devoted to all her family and we will miss her.
