Harland L. Rusch

October 10, 1932 - January 24, 2013

Harland L. Rusch, 80, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2013. He was born on October 10, 1932 in Forest Junction, WI, son of the late Edward & Florence (Herman) Rusch. He married Marion Jean Block in Sheboygan in 1954. They were married for 22 years and had three daughters. He enjoyed many years of companionship with his dear friend Kathy Ray of Green Bay.

As he grew up in Forest Junction he learned how to work the family farm and run their dairy herd. Throughout his life, he carried a deep appreciation of farming and being part of a farming community. He had a very spirited outlook in his youth and strong work ethic as an adult. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway. He returned home to farm with his father and brother. He attended Lakeland College, worked in the appliance industry and opened his own appliance business, "H & R Service & Sales," which he maintained until his retirement. He enjoyed music, church choir, the theater, nature, animals (especially dogs), golfing, swimming, and vacationing in Vero Beach, FL. He valued and derived great satisfaction from hard work. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ, and read the Bible every day.

Survivors include his daughters: Sherry Rusch (Geary Hund) of Idyllwild, CA; Shelly Rusch (Tim Schlenker) of Madison, WI; and Susan Magestro of Santa Fe, NM. He loved his four grandchildren; Kathryn Claire Rusch Hund, Marie Ciattini-Magestro, Benjamin Karl Schlenker, and Stella Jean Magestro. He is also survived by his nephews Brian and Barry Rusch, and his niece Brenda (Rusch) Schmitt, and well as many cousins and friends. His parents, brother, and ex-wife preceded him in death.

His family will hold a service at a later date. Those who wish to attend the service can click the "Share Memories" button above and leave a message along with your e-mail adress or other form of contact information for the family.
