Gwen LaFortune
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 with her family present.
She was born on January 30, 1932 to parents, William and Helen Holznecht.
Gwen married high school sweetheart, John LaFortune in 1951 and had two daughters, Darien LaFortune Parish and Lauren LaFortune Broskovetz. She and John had many wonderful friends from the neighborhoods in which they lived that were a big part of their lives together.
Gwen was a strong and resilient woman who prided herself on her family, art, and home making skills. She was often found in her warm and welcoming home either baking bread or painting in her studio.
Survived by her daughters, Darien (Jeff) Parish and Lauren (John) Broskovetz; grandchildren, Lauren (Charlie) Froelich and Samantha (Nick) Stellmacher, and great-grandsons, Ian and Myles Froelich.
Family would like to extend a special thanks to Green Bay Oncology for all of their years of care as well as Diane, Mary, Kathy, and Angela for their compassionate care the last few weeks.
Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (340 S. Monroe Ave. Green Bay, WI). Private family services will be held separately.
