Guy Paul Rohde

August 13, 1953 — August 19, 2023

Guy Paul Rohde, 70, of New Denmark, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023.

He was born August 13, 1953, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, the son of Paul and Arlyn (Rottmann) Rohde. He graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers, Wisconsin and attended UWGB and UW Extension Center Manitowoc Campus.

Guy was a lifelong entrepreneur in Northeast Wisconsin. Guy started his career as the owner of Rohde's Shell and Car Wash and also Lakeshore Sail Craft in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He later sold this business and fell in love with the golf industry, working at many courses in the area. This led him to a position with Wadsworth Golf Construction Company where he helped build the Green Bay Country Club golf course. He was then hired by GBCC to be the manager of the men's locker room.

His passion for golf eventually led him to start his own business, GPR Golf Cars LLC in New Denmark, Wisconsin. He was the proud owner of this company for many years, in which he sold, serviced and provided fleet rentals to area golf courses. He also contributed free rentals to many charitable events, such as the GB Pet Walk, GB Christmas Parade, Alzheimer's Walk, Denmark High School graduations and more.

During this time a professional race team from the Formula Atlantic series, Brooks Associates Racing, contacted Guy for golf car rentals at Road America. This led to a lifelong friendship and Guy traveled and worked with the team at many events across the country.

Guy married Debra Behrendt on September 18, 1982 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She survives, along with his brothers Greg Rohde (Kathy) of Green Bay and Doug Rohde of Manitowoc; brother-in-law Chris Behrendt (Nancy) and sister-in-law Joni Gandee (Bob); many nieces and nephews; and his faithful, loving fur babies Captain and Sailor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Guy enjoyed golfing, Indy Car Racing, the Packers, college basketball, and cooking. He was an excellent cook, creating many of his own dishes. One of Guy's greatest joys was sailing in Door County with friends and family. Guy also loved conversing with his brothers on auto racing and sharing old stories with his buddies. He had so many fun memories!

Guy lived a full life and was grateful to share this wonderful time with his loving wife, Debbie, of 40 years.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Special thanks for the care and comfort provided by Green Bay Oncology and the staff at St. Vincent's Cancer Center.
