Gerald "Gary" Sarnowski passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was born March 22, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI to Norbert and Lorraine Sarnowski.
Gary attended Boys Tech High School and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree from MSOE. In 1968, Gary joined the United States Navy where he was selected to serve as one our country's finest, the Navy SEALS. His military career came to an end in 1972 and in December of 1974, he married his true love, Cindy Swanson. They shared 43 years of marriage and brought two sons, Jason and Joshua, into the world. Gary was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren, Sydney and Hunter, and enjoyed watching them shoot bow and arrow.
Gary was a trap shooter, hunter, fisherman, master scuba diver, master cave diver, and master mixed gas diver. He served as an alderman and a water commissioner for the city of Mayville. He loved the outdoors, especially when his dogs, Max and Milly, were there to keep him company.
Gary was preceded in death by his son, Josh. Following an accident, Gary diligently cared for Josh for 14 years. He lovingly ensured his son's quality of life and well-being.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; son, Jason (Amy); grandchildren, Sydney and Hunter; and many other beloved relatives and friends.
A service celebrating Gary's life will held at a later date. The Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
