Gerald Dufek

Gerald "Jerry" Dufek, age 68, of De Pere, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at a local care facility. He was born October 10, 1949 in Algoma, WI, son of the late Philip and Sylvia (Ullsperger) Dufek and was a graduate of Algoma High School.

Jerry enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1969 and proudly served his country for 12 years, serving during Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jerry worked for the Algoma Police Department, after which his family relocated to Green Bay. Jerry married Leann DeNamur, August 4, 1973 and together they shared 44 loving years of marriage and were blessed with a son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law, Jody.

Jerry's family remembers him as a generous and loving man, willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his dog, Annie. Jerry was a proud dad, grandpa to: Josh, Danielle, Lindsey and Kiley and great-grandpa to Warhol. He also leaves behind 4 sisters: Beverly, Patricia, Jane and Mary.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM. A funeral service will follow at 4 PM with full military honors. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
