Gerald R. Blake "Red" age 84, passed away on June 25, 2022 at home with his wife Nancy and family by his side.
Gerald was born on January 22, 1938, son of George, Sr. and Marie (Cramer) Blake. Jerry married the love of his life, Nancy (Luedke), on August 25, 1956. Jerry always said after 65 years he still loved her as much as the day he married her. He proudly served in the US Air Force for 4 years, 2 years as an air crew member on the largest cargo plane C-124 globe master out of Japan, and 2 years in Denver as air traffic control. Jerry worked at Nicolet Paper Mill for 36 years (1960-1996) where he retired as supervisor. He spent his retirement enjoying riding his motorcycles, which he started riding at age 13 - this included 3 trips out west on the bike with Nancy and he continued riding till the day he got his wings. They loved traveling to Arizona for their winter months for 22 years. Family was very important to him, he enjoyed spending time with Nancy and their kids, hunting with their 3 sons, and jumping on the bike and taking rides to see their daughter at her saloon for a beer.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Blake, sons: Steve (Cheryl) Blake, Dunbar, Jeff (Vicky) Blake, Suamico, Chris (Mary) Blake, Little Suamico, and daughter Kelly Krieger, Mountain. He is further survived by his brothers: Don (Judy) Blake, Dick (Shirley) Blake, sister, Joan Van Hoosen, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Karen Ann Blake, grandson Justin Aerts- Blake, mother-and father-in-law, Floyd and Esther Luedke, and his best friend and brother-in-law, Dale Van Hoosen.
Friends and family may visit at St. John the Baptist, 2597 Glendale Ave, on July 5, 2022 from 10:00 am until noon, and Mass will be at 12:00 pm. Private Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
