Green Bay - Gerald "Jerry" Bero, 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 7, 2018. He was born on April 18, 1928, in Menominee, Michigan to the late William J. and Florence (Beland) Bero. He married Alice H. Peterson on June 2, 1950.
After high school, Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1946-1948 and the Naval Reserves from 1948-1953. He was an avid Packer Fan (attended the Ice Bowl), golfer, bowler, swimmer, card and dice player. Jerry very much enjoyed his trailer and friends in Gresham, WI for 40+ years and his family vacations in Vilas County. He also enjoyed socializing at Simonets, Krolls, Maricques, Gippers and Chambers Hill. But, what he loved most was his wife Alice. Jerry is best known for his work ethic, sense of humor and faithfulness.
Jerry co-founded Packerland Business Equipment Corporation, with Al Davitt, in 1962. Jerry worked until his retirement in 2006.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Alice; his 3 children, Gloria Bero, Scott (Karen) Bero, Penny (David) Duggan. 4 grandchildren, Heidi (Karl) Kuhr, Tyler (Hannah Torzewski) Ninneman , Becky (Dan) Dempsey, Robin Bero. 6 great grandchildren; Harlie, Ryder, Harper, Taniah, Olivia and Alaina. Jerry is further survived by 2 nieces, Pat Bero, Colleen Sponberg and 3 nephews Bill Bero III, John Bero and David Bero. Jerry was preceeded in death by his parents and brother, William J. "Bill" Bero Jr.
The Funeral Liturgy for Jerry will be at 5 PM on May 10, 2018, at ST. WILLEBRORD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 209 S. Adams Street, Green Bay, with Fr. Andy Cribben officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 3 PM - 5 PM. until the time of services. Entombment will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens in Green Bay. A memorial has been established to benefit Jerry Parins "Cruise for Cancer". Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Wyndemere Assisted Living, Unity Hospice and Doctor Jason Hoppe for their loving care.
