Passed away on March 13, 2023.
He was born to his parents, George and Mary Solcz in Czechoslovakia, at a young age he became a resident of the United States and resided in New York. George started his career as a police officer after graduating from the Police Academy in New York City. In 1961, he moved to Green Bay and continued his career as a Green Bay police officer. He started his career as patrolman and retired as captain of the detective division after 32 years. After retirement, he continued his life long passion for the law.
George loved his Weber Grill and took on the name "George Weber"; he had a passion for food. He was a self-proclaimed food critic of restaurants and graded every meal. His favorite restaurant to go to was Uncle Mike's for coffee and donuts. George also loved his Dobermans, Alex and Sally. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his RV up to Crivitz and Door County, going to dog shows to spend time with friends, and enjoying good food.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Muller and brother-in-law, John Muller.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Greg (Tricia) Solcz and Jennifer (Chris) Froelich, and his grandchildren, Emma and Garrett Solcz, and Evan and Jacob Froelich. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Family would like to extend a huge thanks to Unity Hospice for all the special care they provided and to his good neighbor, Ralph and Del.
