George Linsey Greer

George Linsey Greer, age 64, of Green Bay, formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 20, 1955 in Memphis, TN, son of the late James Essie and Lillie Mae (Suggs) Greer.

George was a graduate of Hamilton High School, Memphis TN and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Christian Brother's University, also in Memphis.

George enjoyed listening to music of all kinds. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He also enjoyed working on cars and taking care of his pet fish. George enjoyed the simple things in life.

George is survived by his daughter, Olivia Greer and his grandson, Derrick Humphreys Jr. and 11 sisters and 4 brothers: Margaret, Beverly, Linda, Brenda, Terri, Kim, Susie, Angie, Libby, Mika, Evelyn, Andre, Chris, Rodney and Michael. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, step-children, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by tthe love of his life, Rose Mary Joy and a brother, Keith.

A gathering and celebration of George's life will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 11 AM to 1 PM.

George's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Bellin Hospital and Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel for their care and compassion.
