Genevieve V. Gogat, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
She was born December 4, 1933 in Cicero, Illinois to the late Ignatious Gogat and Stella (Wilk) Gogat. She spent her early years near Felch, Michigan until 1943 when the family moved to Pensaukee, Wisconsin.
In 1951 she graduated from Oconto High School as Valedictorian. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison getting a B.S. in Medical Microbiology in 1955 and a M.S. in Bacteriology in 1966.
Before moving home to care for her mother, she worked in research, taught, did control work and information.
She enjoyed reading, folk dancing, needlework, volunteering and traveling. During her travels she visited over 30 countries, several of them more than once.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Oconto on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10 AM.
