Gary Weekes

Gary P. Weekes, age 71, of Green Bay, WI, passed away July 29, 2022 after a courageous 10 year battle fighting several different cancers.

Surviving are his "wife", Jan Hirst; son, Steven Weekes; brothers, Robert (Sue) Weekes of Green Bay, WI and Dr. Richard (Kimberly) Weekes of Rosemary Beach, FL; brother-in-law, Bob Check of Lebanon, TN; sister-in-law, Sue Weekes of Cary, NC. Further survived by brothers-in-law, Paul Hirst and Al (Brenda) Hirst of Kewaunee, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

I was preceded in death by my parents, Glen and Margaret (Sally) Weekes; sister, Kathy Check and brother, Greg Weekes of Cary, NC and parents-in-law: Roger (Kathleen) Hirst of Kewaunee, WI, brothers-in-law Tom Hirst of Green Bay, WI and Mark Hirst of Kewaunee, WI.

I was involved in Boy Scouts, was a soccer coach and visited all 50 States by the age of 60, and traveled to Mexico and Canada (fishing trips.) Jan and I enjoyed the same things and traveled to many places, also. I worked at an electrical contractor in Manitowoc for 10 years, also spent 16 years at an electrical distribution company doing project quotations. Next I went to a company that worked directly with engineers, getting lighting specified on projects. My last job, well let's just say I retired early from this company. Not a company I would ever work for again.

I would like to give many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincent Cancer Center. Also, the excellent care from Unity Hospice in the final months of my life, which made things easier on everyone.
