Gary J. Smurawa Sr., 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was born January 1, 1952 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Gary was employed as a truck driver for over 40 years and ended his career at Dedicated Systems in 2014. In 2002, Gary married Marie Lefevre in Green Bay. Gary was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He also enjoyed going up north to Gizmoville with his family where they enjoyed four wheeling, fishing and bonfires. Gary was a dedicated grandfather, he loved to spend time with all of his grandchildren and attended many sporting events for them as well. He was a great story teller and was always willing to give directions to anyone in need. He was willing to help anyone who needed it and would do anything for anyone who knew him, especially his family.
Gary is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marie Smurawa; children: Chad (Ja-Nae), Jenni and Gary Jr. (Holly); grandchildren: Troy, Alex, Gage, Seth, Grace, Tillie and Parker and sisters: Donna Corpus and Susan (David) Hoffman. Gary is further survived by many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Loretta Smurawa; his in laws, Robert and Virginia Lefevre; children: Jason and Charlie Smurawa and "The Sunshine Kids;" siblings: Lorraine (Gene) Drevs, Judy (Jack) De Bauche, Virginia (Dick) Fieck, Sam (Marleen) Smurawa,, Mike Smurawa, Jennifer Smurawa and Steve (Mona) Smurawa; "the privileged child," Gizmo and Minnie.
