Gary J. Knabenbauer

February 29, 1952 — August 18, 2022

Gary John Knabenbauer was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on August 18th, 2022 with family around him. Gary was born in Kimberly, Wisconsin to Agnes (Van Elzen) Knabenbauer and Clarence Knabenbauer on February 29th, 1952. Gary graduated from Appleton East High School in 1971. Gary spent most of his adult life working in the fields of Welding and Manufacturing up until his retirement several years ago.
Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Watching Brewers games. Going to live music shows, especially blues festivals. Shooting a game of pool and spending time with his dogs and his cat. He was most happy surrounded by family and friends at the bonfire with good music playing and a cold Bud Ice in his hand.
Gary was comically grumpy with a hard exterior on the outside. On the inside, he was a warm and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. Gary's family and friends on earth hold at least some solace in the knowledge that Gary is now with the rest of his since departed family. Once again gathered at the family table playing cards with Ma and his sisters in Heaven.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Julie Ruh New Holstein, WI. Son, Andrew Knabenbauer Menasha, WI. Step-Daughter, Meranda Ruh (Aegid Saukel) Brilion, WI. Step-Daughter, Berdella Endress Chapel, FL. Granddaughters, Felicity Knabenbauer Whitewater, WI. Aliyah Knabenbauer Sherwood, WI and Ava Knabenbauer Sherwood WI. Along with many Nieces and Nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his Mother Agnes (Van Elzen) Knabenbauer, Father Clarence Knabenbauer, Sister Barbra Ahrens, Sister Judith Burzynski, Brother in law Milo Burzynski and Niece Dawn Ahrens-Trams. Gary will be honored in a private ceremony with immediate family only. Gary's Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date for all his extended family and friends to come and share laughs and memories.
