Gary W. Edler

Gary W. Edler, aged 85, of Pulaski, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, WI, surrounded by his family. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 28, 1938, the son of the late Karl and Margaret (Culbert) Edler.

Gary dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country by enlisting in the US Marine Corps after high school, where he served until his honorable discharge. On July 13, 1963, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Stubner, in Milwaukee, WI. Their union lasted for 50 years until Kathy's passing in 2013. The love and commitment they shared continue to inspire their loved ones.

Professionally, Gary began his career as a police officer with the West Allis Police Department before transitioning to Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. He faithfully served at Mercury Marine for 35 years until his well-deserved retirement.

Gary cherished moments spent up north with his dear family and friends, particularly enjoying his time fishing. Above all else, his greatest joy was the companionship of his family.

Gary is survived by his children: James (Christine) Edler, Watertown, WI, Brian (Erika) Edler, Pulaski, WI, Kimberly (Kelly) Maloney of Pulaski and Christine (Greg) Stubbe, Fond du Lac; 8 grandchildren: Jamie Gonzalez, Shelly (Rob) Moss, Katie (Eric) Mulder, Brady and Brandon Edler, Christopher (Ana) Maloney, Caitlin (Russell Aude) Maloney and Michael (Alex Mach) Maloney; 6 great-grandchildren, Piper Gonzalez, Vada Narbatovics, Vincent Moss, Mason Maloney, Emmy Maloney and Eva Aude and 2 brothers, Dave (Cheryl) Edler and Don (Lynn) Edler. He is further survived by sister-in-law, Carolyn Schultz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Kathleen Edler, special niece, Kelly Schultz, and brothers-in-law, Jack Schultz and Donald Stubner.

Per Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family celebration planned to honor his life.
