Frieda A. Hansen

Frieda A. Hansen, 72, Denmark, passed away with her family by her side, Friday, April 26, 2013. She was born November 18, 1940, in Shawano, to the late Wester and Pearl (Keup) Drake. Frieda married Raymond Hansen on September 11, 1976. They celebrated 27 years together before Ray passed away on January 29, 2004. Frieda enjoyed the rural country life, gardening, canning, bird watching, cooking, playing cards, fishing, "yelling" at the Green Bay Packers, and especially spending time with her family during the holidays. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor and unconditional love that she gave to all.

Survivors include her 6 children: Laura (Glenn) VanBoxel, Ann (Steve) Sprangers, Dale Drake, Michelle (Kevin) Klein, Michael (Gina Marasco) Drake, and Pamela (Troy Barrett) Johnston; step-children, Don (Lynda) and Jim Hansen, Judy Mayer, and Sharon (James) Rhodes; grandchildren, Derek and Dylan VanBoxel, Daniel and Brian Sprangers, Samantha Drake, Allisyn Drake, Andrew Cromer, Kaitlin and Kristen Klein, Matthew Prokash, Crystal Pleau, Kayla and Casey Drake, Andrew Rhoades, and Jonathon and Samuel Barrett; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; brother, David (Cindy) Drake; sisters-in-law, Kathy and Peggy Drake, Carol Hohne and Connie Ashley; brother-in-law, Gerald "Zip" Scray;

Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; 2 children, Jeffrey and Cathy Jo Drake; grandson, Robert Drake; brothers, Willis "Butch" and Wallace; sisters, Joyce (Jim), Karen, Elaine (Chuck), and Judy (Gerald); and many other relatives and friends.

Family and friends may call Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Friday at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church 1350 Bond St., Green Bay, from 10:00am until 11:00am. A memorial service will be celebrated at the church on Friday at 11:00am with Pastor Amy Engebose officiating. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
