Frank J. Meert

January 15, 1959 — October 10, 2024

Frank James Meert, born January 15, 1959, passed away peacefully on October 10, surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Meert, and his mother, Lois Meert (née Schauer). He is survived by his five children - Elizabeth (Patrick) Havican of West Allis, WI, Anna Meert of Green Bay, WI, John Meert of Summerville, SC, Emily (Austin) Hansen of Peoria, AZ and Benjamin Meert of Cecil, WI.

Frank spent his entire life in Green Bay. He attended St. Agnes through eighth grade followed by Southwest High School. Following a short stint as a truck driver for Coke-a-Cola, he found his calling as an auto mechanic and proceeded to provide automotive services throughout the Green Bay area until his retirement in 2020.

A gifted musician, Frank shared his talents regularly in the community, At St Mary of the Angels Catholic Church he would accompany Mass on his guitar, support the choir with his string bass and, on special occasions, he would sing. Always humble, his preference was to stay in the background, to make everyone around him better rather than take the spotlight.

It is hoped that he is remembered for his laugh, his music, and his love for his children.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Aurora Baycare Medical Center for their compassionate care in Frank's final days. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Dan Herdina, for being an amazing friend to Frank. Words cannot express how much your support and care meant to all of us.

Per Frank’s wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Those wishing to honor his memory are asked to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities at https://rmhc.org/donate or The Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin.
