Francis L. Schauer, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Friday, August 3, 2012. He was born June 22, 1922, New Franken, to the late John and Ottilia (Schauer) Schauer. June 6, 1953 he married the love of his life Carol Wojciechowski at St. John Cantius, Sobieski. Fran was a charter member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He worked at Pauly Cheese until his retirement in 1986. Fran was a member of the Concerned Hearts.
Fran was an avid Packer Fan and never missed a game. He was very fortunate to live a long and healthy life. Fran loved his family and spoke many times of how proud and lucky he was to have such wonderful children, grandchildren, and wife. He felt truly blessed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Carol; 3 children: Mary (Mark) Boncher, Gurnee, IL; James (Shirley) Schauer, Green Bay; and Joseph (Yvonne) Schauer, Green Bay; 6 grandchildren: Erin and Katherine Boncher, Ashley, Ben, Lauren, and Evan Schauer; sisters-in-law: Lottie (Ray) Schilawski, Irene Pranica, and Isabelle Wojciechowski; and many nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by his 3 brothers: Al, Nick (Dorothy), and Robert (Marie) Schauer; and 3 sisters: Aurelia, Hildegard, and Lorraine Schauer.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln., Green Bay, from 9:00am until 11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday at 11:00am, with Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
