Frances LeDale Arcand departed this present world on the morning of July 17, 2017 in the presence of her husband and family. She was born August 2, 1935, the lone child to the late Pearl and Elsie (Brunette) McNee.
"LeDale" graduated from the St. Joseph's Academy class of 1953. Later that year while working for a Dr. Thompson, she was asked out the first time by her future husband in front of what was then known as the Orpheum Theatre. She finally agreed to a date two weeks later, initially getting to know each other over dinner and dancing to country music at local establishments. On Thanksgiving of that year, Charles Arcand, Jr. "Chuck" asked her to marry and she agreed to do so.
Their marriage occurred on May 8, 1954 at St. Willebrord Parish by the Rev. Dennis M. Burke. The reception followed at the Suamico Guild Hall. Together they raised a family of 9 children.
One always felt welcome in LeDale's presence. She greeted all with delight and a smile that warmed your heart and brightened your day. She enjoyed people, family gatherings, bible studies, over-the-road trips with her husband and beating us at Scrabble.
Her faith in Jesus was steadfast and fervent and she desired others to know Him. She and her husband were among the earliest members of the Interfaith Fellowship of Green Bay, now known as Living Hope Church. LeDale also served as a member/treasurer of Women's Aglow and worked in customer service at Kohl's Department Store. After this she assisted her husband in their family business, The Upholstery Shoppe.
She counseled and blessed the hearts of her children and grandchildren and especially her husband. We all look forward to reuniting with her in the presence of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
LeDale is survived by her husband, Charles; children: Dennis (Julie) Arcand, Paul (Janet) Arcand, Kenneth (Gina) Arcand, Michael Arcand, Duane (Vera) Arcand, Todd (Dawn) Arcand, Lori (special friend, Timothy Jasman) Arcand and Chad (Elizabeth) Arcand. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one son, Glenn Charles Arcand, who died at the age of 4 from leukemia.
Visitation will be held at LIVING HOPE CHURCH (1840 W. Mason St., Green Bay), Monday, July 24, 2017 from 3 to 5 PM. A funeral service will follow at 5 PM. Interment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Living Hope Church in LeDale's name are appreciated.
LeDale's family would like to extend a special thank you to Duane and Vera Arcand for their care that enabled LeDale to stay in her home and to Bay Harbor Assisted Living for their care during her brief stay.
