Evylah was granted her angel wings on October 10th 2015, following an 11 month Battle with DIPG. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Evylah had touched throughout her very memorable life. Evylah was born July 29, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Evylah's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her Beautiful smile and One of a Kind Personality melted the hearts of those around her.
Although Evylah's illness made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and remained Independent until her last days. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She could spend hours on Youtube watching Goofy Video's, Cooking and Play doh Tutorials while cuddling close to those she loved so much especially her puppy Pinky Pine. She enjoyed music, dancing, and playing with her sisters and cousins.
Up until her Diagnosis in November of 2014 Evylah had attended Kennedy Elementary School, Green Bay as a Kindergartner. She Loved taking the bus to and from school with her Big sister Mia and coming home and telling us all about her day and what she had learned. After being Diagnosed we relocated to Anoka MN for a Clinical Trial Evylah attended Crooked Lake Elementary School to finish out her Kindergarten year.
With Evylah's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, especially her Beautiful Smile. She will forever remain in our hearts. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be her parents.
Evylah leaves behind many wonderful caregivers and Supporters that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. Evylah's love extends to Dr. Moertel and Staff at University of Minnesota Childrens Amplatz and her wonderful Fairview Hospice Team.
