Evelia Guzman age 84 passed away on April 18, 2023. For Evelia, there is no need for words because those who knew her don't think of her in words. Evelia is thought of in memories. Evelia was the light at the end of a dark tunnel. Evelia was home. After difficult times, you knew you could always visit Evelia in beautiful Mexico and she would be home happily awaiting you, with her famous mole dish. She never complained. Even if you came to see her at three in the morning, she just couldn't wait to hug and hold you as tight and lovingly as she always did. Evelia spent most of her days sitting in her backyard, which has a beautiful garden. Her garden was proof of just how much love Evelia had to give. Her garden is not a cute little garden, it's almost its own little world. Much like her love, it was not small but rich and immersive. Evelia always had a deep fire within her. She was and forever will be a warrior. Before being a mother, Evelia was a beautiful young girl from El Saucillo. She had been crowned as most beautiful. She fell in love with her husband Librado Garcia whom she had fifteen children with. Five of her children passed as babies and years later her husband also passed while their youngest was only 2 years old. Evelia did not know what to do with so many children to feed and care of, being all alone, she knew she had to be strong. Evelia began farming, and taking her older kids with her to help. Many years later went by and Evelias children grew up and she was a grandmother to 40 grandkids. Evelia might have not been the mother to her grandchildren or even great grandchildren, but she is the mother and creator of the family. We all thought the world would be dimmer without her here, but because she's up there, the sun shines brighter. Evelia will forever be remembered as the warrior that she was, and can always be found in the beautiful details of the world.

Friends and family may visit at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm.
Burial will take place in Mexico.


Evelia Guzmán de 84 años falleció el 18 de abril de 2023. Para Evelia, no hay necesidad para palabras porque aquellos que la conocieron no la recuerdan en palabras. Evelia es recordada en recuerdos. Evelia era la luz al final del túnel. Evelia era tú hogar. Después de tiempos difíciles, sabías que siempre podías visitarla en México lindo y ella estaría felizmente esperándote, con su famoso mole. Ella no se quejaba de cuando llegaras. Incluso si llegabas a verla a las tres de la mañana, ella se moría para verte y abrazarte tan fuerte con tanto amor como siempre lo hacía. Evelia pasaba sus días en su patio trasero, cual tiene un jardín hermoso. Su jardín era la prueba de cuánto amor tenía Evelia para dar. Su jardín no es un jardín-cito, es casi su propio mundo. Al igual que su amor, no era pequeño, sino abundante e inmersivo. Evelia siempre tuvo un fuego profundo en su interior. Era y siempre será una guerrera. Antes de ser madre, Evelia era una hermosa joven de El Saucillo. Había sido coronada como la más bella. Se enamoró de su marido Librado García, con el que tuvo quince hijos. Cinco de sus hijos murieron siendo bebes y años más tarde su marido también falleció cuando su hijo más pequeño tenía solo 2 años. Evelia no sabía qué hacer con tantos niños que alimentar y cuidar, estando sola, sabía que tenía que ser fuerte. Evelia empezó a cultivar la tierra con ayuda de sus hijos mayores. Pasaron muchos años y los hijos de Evelia crecieron y fue abuela de 40 nietos. Puede que Evelia no fuera la madre de sus nietos, ni siquiera de sus bisnietos, pero es la madre y la creadora de la familia. Todos pensábamos que el mundo sería más oscuro sin ella aquí, pero como ella está ahí arriba, el sol brilla más bonito. Evelia siempre será recordada como la guerrera que fue, y siempre se la podrán encontrar en los bellos detalles del mundo

Los amigos y familiares pueden visitar Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave el viernes 28 de abril de 2023 de 10:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m. con un servicio funerario a las 12:00 p. m.
El entierro tendrá lugar en México.
