Eugene "Buzzie" Victor Kriehn, 66, De Pere, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at his home, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born March 31, 1946 in Wausau, to the late Victor and Eloise (Fryatt) Kriehn. When he was a child Eugene's family moved to Spencer and then to Fort Dodge, Iowa and later to Austin, MN. He graduated from Austin High School with the class of 1964. Following graduation he enlisted into the Marine Corp. and served two tours of duty, one in Okinawa and the other in Vietnam. After serving his country Eugene decided to move to Wausau where his grandparents (E.P. "Pike" and Mildred Fryatt) lived. Throughout his life Eugene was married and divorced twice. He had a great love for the outdoors and was fond of fishing, hunting, gardening, canning, cooking, and was a very talented handyman.
Survivors include his brother, Harlin (Judith) Kriehn, Austin, MN; nephews, Todd (Cozette) Kriehn and Regis Ankney; nieces, Sara Kriehn and Dawn and Jodie Ankney; great-nieces, Hailey and Lola; great-nephew, Jerett; and special friends, Vicki and Dick Engel and Charlie and Patti Browne.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois (Lester) Ankney; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Esther Kriehn and Emil Klemp; and maternal grandparents, Erwin P. "Pike" and Mildred Fryatt.
Family and friends may gather at the graveside for a committal service at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1501 Grand Ave., Wausau, WI, on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 2:00pm.
