Eugene F. Sengstock, 77, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home early Sunday morning from cancer. He was born November 2, 1939 in Appleton to Harvey and Lulu (Kloes) Sengstock. On October 14, 1961 he married the love of his life, Dawn Robinson. As a young man, Gene's vibrant personality allowed him to be a successful salesman for various companies, including Cook Coffee and Morning Glory Dairy. He continued his success, owning and operating a successful roofing, siding and construction business, Sengstock Enterprises, for over 25 years.
In his younger days Gene enjoyed bowling and golf and was a member and a leader with the New London Jaycees and Green Bay Moose Lodge #801. He took his family on countless camping trips and later enjoyed relaxing at their trailer on the lake with his wife. Gene loved spending time with his ever-growing family and spent many hours, rain or shine, proudly supporting his grandchildren at their various sporting events and school outings. In recent years he generously spent his time working with his fellow parishioners at St. Patrick Church. He was a Parish Trustee, the Funeral Lunch Committee Coordinator and the head usher. He was especially proud to have founded the We Care Program to cheerfully welcome and assist elderly parishioners get from their cars into church.
Gene is bravely but sadly survived by his wife Dawn, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage as they enjoyed life's ups and held on through life's downs, side by side, together through it all. He is also survived by his daughter, Brenda (Brian) Wood; and his three sons Brian (Marcia) Sengstock, Bruce Sengstock and Brad (Pam) Sengstock, all of Green Bay. He will be missed by his cherished grandchildren, Evan Wood, Nicolas (Ashley) White, Max White (special friend Katie Peot), Zachary Sengstock, Elizabeth (Brandon) Selner, Emily Sengstock (special friend Elliot Rogahn) and Maggie Sengstock. He is further survived by his brothers, Carl (Pat) Sengstock, Appleton, Ron Sengstock, AZ and Harvey (Grace) Sengstock, Appleton, brothers-in-law, Laverne Gerrits, Combined Locks, Wayne Robinson, Little Chute and Clarence (Judy) Robinson, FL, and sister-in-law Susan (Leslie) Markusen, Mountain. Gene was welcomed into Heaven by his parents and his three sisters Beatrice Sengstock, Mary Gerrits and Shirley James, who all preceded him in death.
