Eugene E. Hendzel

November 15, 1935 — December 5, 2020

Eugene E. Hendzel, 85, of Seymour passed away peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2020. He was born on November 15, 1935 to Frank and Agnes (Gunia) Hendzel in Pulaski.

After graduating from Pulaski High in 1954, he joined the Navy and sailed on the USS Ticonderoga to many wonderful places around the world. He was a member of the American Legion of Seymour.

On March 31, 1959 he married Nancy Stuckart and together they had five children.

Eugene worked at Fairmont Food and Procter & Gamble until his retirement.

He loved his hunting trips to Montana, South Dakota, and Sparta. He also enjoyed showing off the awards from his prize winning Brown Swiss cows. His farm was his pride and joy on which he planted thousands of trees for the wildlife to enjoy. He also had a love of sports, yelling at the Packers, and drinking a shot of whiskey and beer.

He had more love for his family and friends than anyone knew. Spending time with them brought joy to his life.

Eugene is survived by his wife Nancy, children: Dan "Jake" (Jerry), Steve (Renee), Carl (family), Cinde (Matt), and Lisa; grandchildren: Craig, Abby (Ethem), Mandie, and Codey; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Jack, Brooklyn, Gannon, and Remington; his sister Lorraine (Orv) Muck, and his beloved dog Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, sisters, and brothers.

There will not be a service at this time. A celebration of life will be planned in the Spring at the family farm.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare- Appleton Hospital and Peabody Nursing Home for the love and care given to Eugene.
