Eugene "Gene" Ernest Jandrey, 77, Reedsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, December 23, 2013. He was born August 27, 1936, in the Town of Cato, to the late Charles "Carl" and Minnie (Wunrow) Jandrey. On June 4, 1955, Gene married the love of his life Shirley Kalies, at Trinity Lutheran church in Brillion. He drove truck for over 35 years. Gene carried a strong faith and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley; 6 children: Lorna (Jim) Brach, Roger (Lori) Jandrey, Jody (Bill) Bowers, Dennis (special friend, Julia) Jandrey, Lyle (Emily) Jandrey, and Diane (Greg) Ormsbee; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Dickert and Doris Jandrey; brothers, Lawrence (Lucy), Donald (Muriel), and Bill (Cheryl); sisters-in-law, Janice and Sophia Jandrey; and many other relatives and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Glenroy and Charles; brother-in-law, Willard Dickert; and sister-in-law, Audrey Jandrey.
Family and friends may call, Monday, December 30, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church of Wayside, 8378 County Rd W, Greenleaf, from 8:30am until 11:30am. A memorial service will be celebrated at the church on Monday at 11:30am, with Pastor Steve Kline officiating.
Gene's family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Calumet Medical Center, and his special nurse friend, Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
