After retirement, Ernie continued to work many jobs including driving the shuttle for the nuclear plant and he worked the last 15 years as security with the Green Bay Packers.
Ernie loved going to his cottage in Goodman, hunting and fishing with the boys and grandkids and had taken hunting trips to Colorado and Canada. He loved the outdoors and nature, working in his yard, berry picking, sailing and golfing. Ernie and Ruth spent some of the winter months in Gulf Shores, Spain and North Africa. They also traveled to Colorado many times, volunteering to build the Colorado Trail, sleeping in tents on the side of the mountain. Ernie was never without his trusted furry companion, Snap.
