Ellen Anderson

Ellen (Jahnke) Anderson, age 91, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Century Ridge. Ellen was born on April 24, 1924, at home on the family farm, east of Abrams, WI, a daughter of the late Mathilda (Baerenwaldt) and William Jahnke. Ellen attended Abrams State Grade School and graduated from Oconto High School in 1942. She worked in Milwaukee for two years and then returned home to care for her mother.

On June 8, 1946, Ellen married Carl J. Ward. They lived in Oconto Falls and moved to Green Bay in 1957. Carl preceded her in death on May 11, 1961. On April 26, 1969 she married Donald Anderson. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son Gary Ward on March 19, 2009.
Ellen was employed by the H.C. Prange Co. for 13 years from 1979 to 1992. She also worked in the Senior Aides Program at the Cornerstone Rehabilitation Center and at the American Red Cross until 2006. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, and was also an avid reader and gardener.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law David and Faye Fisher-Ward and their children: Claire, Dylan and Sean Ward of Minneapolis, MN, daughter-in-law Carol Caruso Ward of Rio Rancho, NM, a step-son Kevin (Rachelle) Anderson of Dykesville, WI and their children: Thor, Benjamin & Skip; two step-daughters: Anita (Ward) Kennin of Downey, CA and Pamela (Mark) Honold of Sturgeon Bay, WI and their children Christopher and Andrew; a step-daughter-in-law Peggy Ward of Concord, CA, 13 step-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The last of 9 children, Ellen was also preceded in death by her step-son Carl Ward, Jr. and step-son-in-law Dale Kennin.
