Elizabeth Ann (Coenen) Spotts, 77, Green Bay, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
Betty was born on Christmas Day in 1942 to Elmer and Josephine Coenen. She is the oldest of three daughters. Betty married Paul, the love of her life when she was 18 years old. They lived along "The Bay" in Suamico for many years. It was here where together they raised three children, Brenda, Roy, and Linda. During this time, Paul owned and operated a commercial fishing business and christened his boat the "Betty Ann". This is when Betty developed her love of going for a boat ride. She said it was the most peaceful and calming thing for her in the world. She loved to be on the water with the wind in her hair.
One of Betty and Paul's passions was riding motorcycle. They belonged to a motorcycle club and took several trips on their Harley. After Paul passed away 23 years ago, Betty loved the sound of a group of Harleys starting up and taking off for a ride. She said it was one of her favorite sounds in the world!
In recent years, Betty would make several trips a week over to Butch and Nancy's for supper and games around the kitchen table afterward. She became quite the "Farkle" Master and had a dice roll coined, "The Betty Roll".
Betty is survived by her three children, who meant the world to her, Brenda (Joe) DeValk, Roy (Kathy) Spotts, and Linda Peters (Friend Dan), 6 grandchildren Jessica, Amanda, Rebecca, Nikki, Wyatt, Alli and 2 great-grandchildren she thought the world of, her two sisters Barb Cornelissen and Nancy (Butch) Kroll, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is Grandma Betty to many!!
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Paul, one son-in-law, Tony Peters, one brother-in-law, Jerry Cornelissen, and parents Josephine and Elmer Coenen.
Betty will be dearly missed. Christmas Day will have someone special missing this year. We will be sure to place a yellow rose next to the Christmas Tree! Rest in Peace!
