Elizabeth "Betty" (Selner) Legois, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 18, 2014 just two days before her 93rd birthday. She was surrounded by family and will be sadly missed by everyone.
Betty was born in Kewaunee, WI on December 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Trottman) Selner. She attended Kewaunee schools, and loved growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan. After high school, Betty worked as a receptionist in a Doctor's office in Kewaunee and later at H.C. Prange's in the buying department. She was married to the late John W. Legois on December 27, 1948 and the two raised four children. The family made their home in Preble, WI, which was later annexed into Green Bay.
Betty was an avid gardener and a lover of flowers. She also enjoyed gathering rocks, and would bring many home from her travels. In earlier years, the family enjoyed camping. They travelled throughout northern Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula and Canada, and eventually purchased their own land to camp on in Pembine.
Betty is survived by her children: Suzanne Legois, Karen (Bob) Beaupre and John D. Legois. She also leaves her sister Edith Ament, and her dear companion, "Cookie" the cat. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband John, her dear son Steven and her siblings Marion Charlier, Helen Bazan and Pat Selner.
The family sends special thanks to the staff of Unity Hospice, especially Nurse Jean, Social Worker Sue and Betty's caregivers Donna, Cindy and Sandy.
