Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Hieronimczak

November 9, 1927 — April 10, 2024

Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Hieronimczak, 96, of Green Bay, passed away on April 10, 2024.

Betty was born on November 9, 1927 to the late George and Ruth (Tilkens) Capelle in Green Bay. On August 3, 1946 she married Henry Hieronimczak at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard, WI. She was active in the Catholic Knights Insurance Society local branch and a member of the St. Anne Society. She was an active long time member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral supporting her children through Cathedral grade school. More recently, she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in De Pere where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Betty enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing (preferably Polkas) and playing card games. She played the accordion from an early age and picked it back up in her golden years. In later life, she was active in shuffleboard and enjoyed older adult trips including trips to Branson, MO. One of Betty's favorite trips was a Disney cruise which included walking the beach and meeting wonderful people from around the world. During a Florida vacation, she wholeheartedly enjoyed the character breakfast in Disney World and the Magic Kingdom's Hoop De Doo Revue with her sons. During her active widow years, Betty regularly volunteered her time for Meals on Wheels, St. Vincent de Paul, and DePere Christian Outreach. About fifteen years ago, she thoroughly enjoyed attending her first Packer game at Lambeau Field and a Milwaukee Brewers game with her family. She watched both football and baseball games with dedication and kept track of the players. After being a dedicated mother for many years to boys, another joy of her life included helping with grandchildren including granddaughters. More recently, she was overjoyed with the visits from her great-grandsons as they would visit her at Allouez Parkside Assisted Living. Betty even played a bit of accordion at the facility for staff and residents and participated in games. The entertainers who would visit brought her great joy as she often sang along. The staff at the assisted living considered Betty to be one of the sweetest residents.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert J. (Kathryn) Hieronimczak and Michael R. (SonCha) Hieronimczak; five grandchildren: Sarah (Brandon) Doyle, Mark (Nicole) Hieronimczak, Rachel (Jason) Angel, Laura Conway and David Hieronimczak; three great-grandchildren: Chandler Doyle, Harrison Hieronimczak and Maverick Hieronimczak; and sister-in-law, Dolores (Walter) Jarosinski. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Hieronimczak; son, John Hieronimczak; brother, George (Audrey) Capelle; brother-in-laws: Stanley (Dolores) Hieronimczak and Tony Hieronimczak; sister-in-law, Alice Galkowski; and grandson-in-law, Alex Conway.
