Elaine Belongea, 91, of Green Bay, beloved wife of 70 years to Myron Belongea, departed this life on Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Vincent Medical Center with her husband at her side.
Elaine was born on July 19, 1925 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Joseph and Delia (Reuter) Dennis. She was a graduate of Green Bay West High School Class of 1943. Throughout her career she was employed for Meacham Realty as a Realtor, Modern Woodman Insurance Company as a Secretary and later retiring after 23 years at Younkers. When her children were younger she was active in the activities they participated in. Elaine enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in the Crivitz area. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. She also was part of a Bridge Club and enjoyed playing cards. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her husband Myron and their five children: Carol (Arlin) Freeman, Dennis (Linda) Belongea, Mike (Therese) Belongea, Jean (Jeff) Smith, and Bob (Casey) Belongea. Elaine also leaves 12 beloved grandchildren: Barb (Brian) Hamilton, Brad Belongea, Nicky (Shannon) VanLaanen, Bill Belongea, Leslie Freeman, Julie (Keith) Loeffler, Crystal (Jesse) Henrichs, Michelle Shahrouri, Kari (Jason) Pfefferkorn, Kate (Nick) Kummer, Andrew Belongea, and Kurt (Allison) Belongea, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Thomas (Audrey) Dennis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11th from 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM at St. Agnes Church, 1484 9th Street, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM in the Church. Entombment will be private in Fort Howard Masuoleum.
