Edwin L. Baldwin, age 84, of De Pere, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 24, 2016. He was born in Shawano, WI to Lillian & Ralph Baldwin, February 8, 1932. He graduated from Shawano High School Class of 1951. He met the love of his life there, Joylen Ehlert. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1953. When he came home on leave he married his love, Joylen Ehlert on March 28, 1953 in Shawano. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, they moved to Green Bay and he worked at Liebman Packing Company for many years and later for Thomson Packing until his retirement in 1995.
Ed belonged to the De Pere VFW and sold poppies and range bells and he volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He helped anyone who needed help. He loved fishing and playing cards with friends and he took many trips with his wife over the years.
Edwin is survived by his loving wife, Joylen; and his four sons, Scott (Phyllis), Terry, Brian (Dawn) and Neil (Michelle); grandson, Eric (Angie); great-grandsons, Lucas and Nevyn; granddaughter, Rori Baldwin; brother, Ralph; sister-in-law, Helen; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 1018 Cedar Street, De Pere. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am at the church. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
