Edward D. Wielgus, 80, of De Pere, sadly left us and joined his wife Lois Wielgus in heaven on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Edward was a graduate of West High School. He then married Lois and started his career at Paper Converting Machine Company from which he retired.
In his spare time he enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and has been seen at many ballet productions cheering on and supporting his granddaughter and daughter.
Edward held many titles, son, husband, father, Grandpa (AKA) Papa and friend.
Those who had the privilege to know him always felt heard, seen and most of all loved by him.
Edward is survived by three sons and one daughter; Dennis Wielgus, David Wielgus, Daniel (Christina) Wielgus and Carrie Wielgus. He also has seven grandchildren; Cameron Wielgus, Lexi Wielgus, Grace Wielgus, Morgan Wigman, Madison Wielgus, Copper Wielgus and Hogan Wielgus, one great granddaughter, Alice Wielgus and one sister, Carol Burkel.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lois Wielgus, Father and Mother, Edward and Charlotte Wielgus, Mother and Father In Law, Jack and Maxine Ashford, son, Timothy Wielgus and cousin Jerry Kawula.
Those who did not know him may have thought he was sitting out the game but he definitely was not. He was more like a scout, carefully observing all the great things in everyone and spreading their heroics like wildfire, spreading goodness and that is definitely a life to be proud of, one that he can absolutely hang his hat on.
We leave you with the lyrics from one of dad's favorite songs;
"Dad, I wonder if I ever let you down.
If you're ashamed of how I turned out.
Well he lowered his voice, then raised his brow...
Said let me tell you right now...
That's something to be proud of,
That's a life you can hang your hat on,
You don't need to make a million,
Just be thankful to be working,
If you're doing what your able,
Putting food there on the table
And providing for a family that you love
That's something to be proud of.
And if all you really do is the best you can
Then you did it man!"
Hang your hat Dad- We all love you!
