Edward Stanley Kolakowski, age 83, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born April 22, 1940 to the late Stanley and Julia (Parins) Kolakowski.
Ed was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of 1959. He continued his education at St. Norbert College, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Ed went on to further his education at MSOE. While living and working in Milwaukee, Ed met the love of his life, Elizabeth Landowski. Ed and Betty were married September 5, 1964 and they shared 58 and a half loving years together. The couple moved back to Green Bay where Ed spent most of his career working for Nicolet Paper Company as a lab technician in the treatment plant until his retirement.
Ed loved his Green Bay Packers, his Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks. He loved sitting outside reading the paper or a good book. He loved working on the family tree while researching the history of his family.
Edward was a great husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to so many people. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for a family member or friend. He had a great sense of humor and an amazing smile.
Edward is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty"; his daughters, Mary Kolakowski and Susan (Ron) Sears; sister, Carol Van Rite; nephew, Todd Dobesh; nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Sandra Sears; grandchildren, Shadiara and TaJarrie and a great-granddaughter, NovaRose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph, a sister, Mary and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 4 to 6 PM. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
