Edward Antone Jagodinsky, age 84, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Woodside Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born in Manitowoc, WI, December 1, 1933 to the late Albert and Helen (Osieczanek) Jagodinsky. Edward graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc and served in the US Army. After graduating from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in Education, Edward taught school at Norwood School in Green Bay. Edward later began a career with State Farm Insurance as an agent serving many customers in Green Bay and Allouez for over 35 years.
Edward married Darlene Ducat of Two Rivers in 1955 and had three children. Edward was a charter member of the Allouez Kiwanis. Edward also helped form and coached in the Allouez Babe Ruth League. He served as the treasurer of the league for many years. Edward was active refereeing WIAA High School basketball for over15 years. Edward also played fast-pitch softball and hardball for multiple teams in the Green Bay and De Pere area. Edward had a passion for golf, often playing at Northbrook Country Club.
Edward is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darlene (Ducat) Jagodinsky; 3 children: Patricia Jagodinsky, Bruce (Rose) Jagodinsky and Brian (Janice) Jagodinsky; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Gertie Jagodinsky.
Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine (Les) Albrecht and a brother, Joseph Jagodinsky.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 11 AM to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established at a later date.
Edward's family would like to thank the staff at Woodside Lutheran Home, St. Vincent Hospital and Unity Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
