Edith M. Nelson

Edith M. Nelson, 89, of DePere, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was born on November 26, 1930 in East Moline, IL to the late Loyd and Mary (Dumolien) Fisher.

Before retirement, Edith worked at Green Bay Blueprint for over 10 years.

Edith enjoyed going up North to Kelly Lake with her children and step-children. She loved fishing, being out on the pontoon boat, and bird watching. Edith liked to socialize and spend as much time as possible with her family.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her kindness will be missed by all that knew her.

Edith is survived by her three children: Craig Compton, Jeff (Mary) Compton, and Steve (Terri) Compton; four stepchildren: Brad (Jean) Nelson, Colleen (Ben) Janikowski, Craig (Diane) Nelson, and Tim (Lori) Nelson; 13 grandchildren: Carrie Compton, Kimberly Compton, Cole Burich, Nicholas Compton, Natalie Compton, Jen Fietz, Stacy Rukamp, Nicole Spaeth, Kelly Morehouse, Amber Bowers, Trisha Compton, Candice Powell, and Caitlyn Powell; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister Clara Myers along with many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hartley Nelson; son Scott Compton; brother Larry Fisher; sister Doris Porth and daughter-in-law Joan Compton.

Visitation for Edith will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 4pm - 6pm at Assumption BVM Catholic Church (124 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, WI 54162). Mass for Edith will follow at 6pm. As a precaution of the church due to COVID-19, temperatures will be taken upon arrival. Newcomer- Green Bay Chapel will be assisting the family.

The family would like to thank Edith's wonderful neighbors Michelle and Bill for helping take care of Edith when she was living alone. They'd also like to thank Unity Hospice and staff for the excellent care given to Edith while she was staying at their facility in DePere.
