Earl Harland "Porky" Putnam, age 76, of Hobart, passed away peacefully, January 10, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He was born February 28, 1942, to Edith "Toots" and Earl Putnam. He attended West High School and attained his GED. He married his sweetheart, Sharon Faucett, August 1, 1964 in Marinette, WI. Earl was a Navy Veteran and was honorably discharged in December of 1967. After his discharge he worked for Barbeau Manufacturing along side brother-in-law and mentor, Otto Kohls. In the early 1970's he worked at Precision Frame in Green Bay then became owner/operator of Ashwaubenon Alignment. In 1983 he moved onto Renard Machine as maintenance and later retired from Paper Converting in 2003.
Porky is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon; his children, Timothy (special friend, Kathy Harrison) and Kimberly (John) Peterson; sister, Claudia "Toddy" Kohls; his grandchildren: Cierra Putnam, Shayne, Chase, Tim and Tom; step-granddaughter, Jessica (Nate) Smith; the light of his life great-granddaughter, Harland Rose as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is further survived by his special cousin/brother, Danny Putnam, his second "wife", Mike Tassoul and special friend, Jeff Rusch.
He is preceded in death by his parents; special nephew, Tom Kohls; his brother-in-law, Otto Kohls and dear friend, Dave Baron.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (1954 Cty Rd U, Green Bay, WI), Monday, January 21, 2019 from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11AM with full military honors. Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
Porky will be greatly missed by all who knew him especially for his endless jokes and willingness lend a hand with whatever it may have been.
