October 27, 1976 — April 24, 2015

Dwayne E. McKeefry, 38, Green Bay passed away suddenly on Friday, April 24, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. He fought nine courageous years battling the side effects of leukemia. Dwayne was born on October 27, 1976 the son of Dennis and Kathleen (Kujawa) McKeefry.

He was a graduate of Preble High School in Green Bay. On September 8, 2001 Dwayne married his High School sweetheart Carrie VandenHeuvel. He worked for KI for many years before recently becoming a certified personal trainer, his true passion.

Dwayne has touched the lives of so many. His love for basketball is what everyone will remember him for. He found the court to be his sanctuary. Dwayne was an incredible mentor and coach. He lived for others and inspired those around him. Dwayne brought smiles to everyone, especially his nieces and nephews. He was strong, positive, and fought harder than anyone we've ever known. His strength and determination will forever be in our hearts.

Dwayne was amazing! He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Carrie; parents; brothers, Dean McKeefry and Darren (Gina) McKeefry, their children, Brynn, Grace, Lucas, William and Emma; sisters, Debra McKeefry, Brenda Freeman her son Sebastian, Billie Jo McKeefry (Chance) and her children Christopher and Christina; father-in-law, Steve (Debbie) VandenHeuvel; brother-in-law, Kurt (Jenna) VandenHeuvel and their children Lakyn and Wyatt; sister-in-law, Vickie Thielke her children Aubrey and Walker; and grandmother, Evie Voss. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bob Thielke; grandparents, Martin (Frances) Kujawa; LaVerne (Arlene) McKeefry; Augie Voss; and Clifford (Evelyn) VandenHeuvel

A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 11am to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM.

A special thank you to his Donor Brother, Justin Chaney.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Dwayne's name.
