Dorothy Mae Nys

Dorothy Nys, 88, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. She was born on October 21, 1930, to the late Peter and Lillian (Vandernack) Heim in Green Bay, WI. She graduated from East High School. On August 21, 1950, Dorothy married Robert W. Nys at Sts. Peter and Paul.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons: Gary (Sandy) Nys of Greenleaf, and Peter Nys of Milwaukee; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert; a sister, Lucille (Arthur) Nooyen and a brother, Elmer (Evelyn) Heim.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church from 10am to 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am with Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank the many great staff members at Odd Fellows Rehabilitation Unit and also the Odd Fellows nursing home for the care and compassion they gave to Dorothy. A special thanks to Sandy for being their for Dorothy everyday.
