Donna Mae Peterson
March 12, 1934 — November 8, 2022
Donna Peterson, 88, of Appleton, WI, went to her home in heaven on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Jesus welcomed her with open arms and said "well done my good and faithful servant".
Donna was born March 12, 1934 and raised on a farm in the town of Hobart WI. Her love of the farm and its beautiful scenery was showcased in artwork she collected and displayed in her home. Donna was a prayer warrior in every way. She spent much time in prayer. Her tattered and torn Bible with underlined scripture was evidence of her prayer life. Jesus was the leader of her life. She enjoyed antiquing, crocheting, puzzles, painting, playing hymns on the piano and organ and many car rides in the country. Donna had a nurturing loving heart. She spent the majority of her life sharing that gift with her nieces and nephews, she was like a mother to all of them. Donna also worked as a caregiver at Woodside nursing home and enjoyed the time spent taking care or the residents. She was also a foster grandparent at DPC.
Donna is survived by her sister, Carolyn Peterson of Appleton, WI, brother, Leon (Kathy) Peterson of Green Bay, WI, her many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren who loved and adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ellen Peterson, her 2 brothers, Wayne Peterson and Eugene Peterson, nieces, Karen Peterson and Sarah Tree, nephew, Kevin Peterson.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 3 to 5PM. A memorial service will follow at 5PM. To leave an online condolence for the family, please visit www.NewcomerGreenBay.com.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the family, friends and caregivers that provided care for Donna over the last 17 years. We would also like to thank the team at Aseracare who went above and beyond showing her kindness and compassion, her nurse Tammy was our angel through it all.
