Donna Rae Gau

Donna Rae (Rasmussen) Gau, 63, passed away after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born in Laona, WI to Tom and Pauline (King) Rasmussen on July 27, 1958.

Donna was a graduate of Green Bay West High Class of 1976 where she was a proud member of the marching band and lettered in golf. She was employed at Auto Paint Specialists (FinishMasters) for 43 years. On June 14, 1997, she married her best friend and partner for life, Brian Gau. One of Donna's greatest passions was her love of animals, especially cats, big and small. Her biggest pride and joy was her nephew and godson, Brad Ambrosius. She loved attending and watching him play football at West De Pere High School and playing football for North Dakota State University.

Donna is survived by her mother, Pauline; her husband of 24 years, Brian; her sister, Diana (Dave) Ambrosius; her nephew, Brad (fiancée, Emma) Ambrosius; her mother-in-law, Rebecca Gau; brothers and sisters-in-law: Andrew (Julie) Gau, Carla (Brad) Wallenfang, Debra Gau, Ernest Gau, and Frances (Paul) Eighmy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tom; father-in-law, Gerald Gau; grandparents: Tom Sr. and Agnes Rasmussen, Elmer and Grace King and Wilbert and Mary Jane Wiesmann.

Visitation for Donna will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel from 9 am to 11:30 am. A prayer service will follow at 11:30 am.

Donna's family would like to thank the staff at Bellin Oncology as well as Unity Hospice for their care and compassion.
