Donald W. Gleffe, 91, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. He was born May 24, 1922, in Shawano, to the late Fred and Lesetta (Gherman) Gleffe. Don proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1946. On August 3, 1945, he married the love of his life Delores Maloney. Don worked at Proctor & Gamble for over 35 years until his retirement in 1983.
Don was a member of the Disabled Veterans Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching little league and hockey, photography, being outdoors, boating, gardening, reading, woodcarving, and especially spending time and playing cards with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Delores; 4 children, Michael, Bill (Sue), Patti, and Rob (Nancy); grandchildren, Stephanie (Jim) Beaupre, Steven (Tracy) Zingler, Aaron (Beth) Zingler, Murray and Marty Gleffe, Jenny (Ray) Heimerl, Amy (Jeremy) Fusek, Rob (special friend, Nicole) Gleffe; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb, Madelyn, Trevor, and Ava; and many other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Family and friends may call on Monday, December 23, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A memorial service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00pm followed by military honors.
