Donald A. Malcolm, 79, died of COPD on August 14, 2018. He was born on August 5, 1939 to the late W. Donald and Viola (Goris) Malcolm in Oak Park, IL. He was active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, and was elected to Order of the Arrow. Don was a consummate salesman. He worked for the Gillette Company selling shampoo, deodorant, and razors--the only Gillette salesman with a full beard. He loved SCUBA diving and we traveled all over the world to dive. He helped many people get certified to dive working as an Assistant Instructor at Aqua Center. Don loved photography and had a retirement job with PCA in a Walmart Portrait Studio. He loved to cook, subscribing to many food magazines that he pored over, marking so many recipes with Post-its that they looked like they came fringed. He loved watching the birds at our backyard feeders, lecturing the hawks about which birds were edible and grumpily begrudging the squirrels some seed and peanuts. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Angermeier) Malcolm; his children, Michael Malcolm, Jill Malcolm, David (Abigail) Malcolm, and Ann (Theo Meacham) Malcolm; his brothers R.J. (Kathy) Malcolm and Bruce (Diana) Malcolm; grandchildren, Lucy, Oscar, and Gale, and great-grandson, Ivan. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Henry and Maralee (Stephan) Angermeier.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave.
