Donald A. Groth, 87, of Green Bay, departed this life peacefully on June 20, 2022 at Bellin Hospital.
Don was born on May 4, 1935 in Green Bay son of the late Walter C. and Dorothy (Servott) Groth. He proudly served our country in the Army from 1955 until 1961. Don was united in marriage to Sandra Zierson on June 2, 1963. Don worked for the Green Bay Public Schools in maintenance for over 30 years. For several years Don was part of the grounds crew for the Packers, he met coach Lombardi and Bart Starr. In his spare time he enjoyed seasonal camping in Sturgeon Bay at Peninsula State Park and Tranquil Timbers. Don and Sandi also traveled the country coast to coast. Their favorite place to visit was Disney World.
Don is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Bret) Radichel, sister-in-law, Billie VanKlooster, and a brother-in-law, Scott (Debbie) Zierson, 5 nephews: Brian VanKlooster, Brent VanKlooster, Zach Zierson, godson, Scott (Teal) Juranitch, and Paul Juranitch, and a niece, Jennifer (Shane) McCarty. He is preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Juranitch, and a niece, Virginia Juranitch.
Friends and family may visit at Newcomer Chapel, 340 S Monroe Ave, on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm with funeral service to follow at 1:30 pm. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Green Bay.
