Donald E. Deneys, age 87, of Pulaski, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 23, 1931 in Green Bay, son of the late Henry and Lorraine Deneys.
Don was employed by Fort Howard Paper for 38 years, retiring in 1990. He married Margaret De Keyser, October 3, 1959 and they shared 59 loving years of marriage and were blessed with 4 children. Don, Margaret and the family were also vendors at the farmers market in Green Bay for 43 years, retiring 3 years ago. They sold vegetables and hand-woven rag rugs. Don was also known as "The Tomato Guy"!
Don had a love for horses, owning over his lifetime from draft horses to miniature ponies. He had a passion for tractors and he was proud to say that he owned 150 tractors over the years. He loved his family deeply, polka music and sitting outside watching the world go by. He loved to talk and tell stories to anyone who wanted to know about the family.
Don is survived by his wife, Margaret; his 4 children: Barb (Don) Wisniewski, Keith (Connie) Deneys, Kurt (Michele) Deneys and Brad Deneys; 9 grandchildren: Marcus (Sarah) Hennig, Kyle (Brittany) Deneys, Tamara (Luke) Baranczyk, Anthony (Chantel) Deneys, Alex Peterson (Danielle Novak), Kevin Deneys, Shannon (Marisa) Deneys, Cody and Keira Deneys; step-grandchildren: Josh and Dana (Kirk) Wisniewski, Eric (Ashley) Brunette and Erin (Luke) Boelter; 8 great-grandchildren: Mady, Kinley and Nathan Hennig, Ziggy Wisniewski, Emmett Deneys, Annalynn Deneys and Emery and Owen Brunette; his sister, Marilyn (Harley) Wilson and sister and brothers-in-law: Pat Durbin and Dick (Marilyn) and Jim (Amy) De Keyser. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Josephine DeKeyser; sister-in-law, Betty Georgia and a granddaughter, Brianna Deneys.
Visitation will be held at Assumption BVM Parish (109 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, WI), Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 6 PM with Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M, celebrant. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the family are appreciated.
