Donald "Buck" Bialcik, of Green Bay, passed away at the age of 89, surrounded by his family on January 4th, 2025.
He was born on February 12, 1935, to Lawrence and Ida (Erb) Bialcik in Medford, WI. He went to live with his maternal grandparents and Uncle Jack at age twelve in Berry Lake, WI. Buck graduated from Gillett High School in 1954.
After graduating, Buck joined the US Army to serve his country in Korea. He achieved the rank of Corporal as a Transportation Specialist. After being Honorably Discharged, Buck returned to Milwaukee. He worked as a machinist at Allis-Chalmers and for his father's Central Roofing and Siding Company.
He married Marjorie Christenson in Milwaukee on August 23, 1958. Together they raised four children and moved to Green Bay in 1968. He was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local 1146 for over 56 years. He retired from DeCoster Construction Company as a Project Superintendent in 1996.
In retirement, Buck taught the Carpenters Apprentice Training Program at NWTC and enjoyed helping family and friends restore homes. He could often be found in his workshops building projects branded Buck’s Curb Crafts and creating lifelong memories along the way.
He and his wife were able to travel to many parts of the world and enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Moody Lake. He was a history buff, collected antiques and old tools, loved gardening, and stacking wood. One of Buck's proudest achievements was his contributions to the restoration of the Hazelwood Historical Museum as the Site Supervisor.
He is survived and dearly missed by his wife and his children; Scott Bialcik (Ruby), Randy (Maria) Bialcik, Corey (Karen) Bialcik, and Tracy (Jason) Blattner; Grandchildren, MSgt Michael Bialcik, Andrea (Ross) Bialcik, Stephanie (CW3 Steve) Bialcik, Mellisa (Evan) Bialcik, and Capt Randy "J.C." Bialcik Jr; Great grandchildren, Jack, Alex, Quinn, and Archer; Brothers, Larry and Roger Bialcik; Brother-in-law, Jerry (Jan) Christenson and many other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54301) on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. A funeral ceremony will follow immediately at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross in Buck's memory.
