Dolores "Laurie" Rettmann, age 88, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, with her devoted husband holding her hand. She was born in the Town of Howard the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Nachtwey) Ullmer. Laurie was married to her cutie, Donald Rettmann on July 3, 1954; their marriage was blessed with three children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and once retired they visited 36 states, as well as Europe. While retired, Laurie was an active associate of Sisters of St. Frances of the Holy Cross, Bay Settlement. Laurie was a volunteer at St. John the Baptist, St. Patrick's Pantry, would often visit the homebound, and was a member of St. John's Christian Mothers. In her spare time, Laurie loved playing cards, going to lunch with her sisters and family, and taking the grandkids on get-away days.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Donald of 68 years, three children: Denise (Pat) Phillips, Donna (Chris) Corbisier, and Doug (Trisha) Rettmann; five grandchildren: Lori and Lisa Phillips, Loni (Jason) Santy, Jessica (David) Kaufman, and Brian (Sadie) Rettmann; seven great-grandchildren: Arizona, Marcus (Ali), Chuck, Henrik, Oliver, Vincent, and Vivienne; one sister, Charlene (Gary) Maus, and one sister-in-law, Edna Ullmer; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters.
Friends and family may visit at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave, Green Bay, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm with Mass to follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
