Dennis Melvin Hibbert, 77, of Crivitz, WI, passed away on April 1, 2021, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI. Dennis "Dennie" was born on January 12, 1944 in Mt. Clemens, MI, to the late Melvin F. Hibbert and Agnes (DeCaussin) Hibbert.
Dennie spent his formative years in Mt. Clemens, MI, where he attended school and later worked in construction. He enjoyed many good times with his family and friends and often shared stories of his many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He moved to Green Bay, WI in 1967 where he raised his children. He married Darlene on December 4, 1976; they recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Dennie enjoyed building and fixing things, and was a skilled craftsman. He owned his own roofing and siding business for many years. He loved driving around town pointing out all the homes and buildings he had a hand in building or restoring. He was also a science and history buff, taking a special interest in aviation, outer space, and WWII. In recent years gardening became his passion and he showed special care in sowing, tilling, tending, and harvesting his crops. He took special pride in his Mortgage Lifter tomato and enjoyed eating it on his famous toasted tomato sandwiches.
The most memorable and endearing qualities about Dennie was the love and affection he showed his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was not ashamed to show his love and care for all of his loved ones. He especially enjoyed being a grandfather; his grandchildren brought him unending joy and laughter. The best times of his life were spent with his grandchildren. His face would light up whenever he saw them. He took pride in every single one of them and their accomplishments. The huge and loving hugs he wrapped them in will forever be missed.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Darlene; children: Steve (Jennifer), Tracy (Sean), Allen (Diane), Dennis, and Jeff (Kim); 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Rosemary and Sandra; sisters-in-law: Carol, Joann (Allen), and Joyce; numerous nieces and nephews and many very special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, brother and sister-in-law Larry and Shirley, sister Patricia, sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Don, brothers-in-law Jim, Ty, Don, Rich, and Ron, great-grandson Devin, and many nieces and nephews.
